Same-day response on quotes. ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration available.
Overview
The PIECAL 541 sources and reads frequency signals for flow meters, speed pickups, and other frequency instruments. Six ranges span 1 CPH to 20.000 kHz (CPH, CPM, Hz, and kHz selections) plus a totalize mode from 1 to 99999 counts over 0.1 to 100.0 minutes.
Accuracy is ±0.005% of range with temperature effect ≤ 10 ppm/°C of range. Source square and sine waveforms with adjustable amplitude; read inputs with x1 and x10 attenuation (0.1 Vpk to 12 Vpk, or 1 Vpk to 120 Vpk). Fuse-less protection to 240 Vrms.
NIST Traceable Certificate provided; test data available on request. Optional BNC connector version available.
Features (PIE)
PIE designed the 541 for calibrating, testing and diagnosing turbine meters, frequency counters, vibration systems, tachometers, vortex shedders, integrators and other frequency devices.
- Accuracy: ±0.005% of range.
- Ranges: source and read from 1 CPH (counts per hour) to 20.000 kHz.
- Totalizer: set the number of pulses and minutes and the 541 stops automatically when the pulses have been sent, with no stopwatch needed.
- Source: sine and square waves, zero-based or zero-crossing, with output amplitude adjustable from 100 mV to 12 V peak-to-peak.
- Gate LED: flashes in sync with the output frequency, for calibrating optical pickups and setting the gate trigger.
- Controls: EZ-Dial knob (press and turn for faster dialing) and EZ-Check switch for 0% and 100% span.
- Power and build: one 9 V alkaline battery, typically 45 hours of continuous use; protected to 60 V.
Included (PIE)
Carrying case and NIST-traceable calibration certificate. Test data is optional.
PIE publishes a comparison of the PIE 541 with the Altek 941/942. Replacement cases are on our PIE calibrator accessories page.
Documentation (PIE)
